January, 2009: ARTSI Alliance head Professor Andrew B. Williams of Spelman College has published his autobiography, Out of the Box: Building Robots, Transforming Lives, The book describes Williams' personal journey from an impoverished childhood to a career as a leader in robotics education for African Americans. Williams founded the Spelman College SpelBots RoboCup team, which made history as the first all-female and first all-African American team to compete in the international RoboCup robotic soccer competition.
