ARTSI Minute Montage Contest sponsored by Apple Inc.

Student Video Festival:  Win a 16 GB Apple iPod Touch!!! Get your student team together and participate in the ARTSI Minute Montage short video contest. Your team must have no more than 4 student members. Make a short (1 minute)  video or commercial that promotes African Americans not just using technology, but creating it!  Help encourage other students to get involved in creating computing or robotics technology.

Send Dr. Williams your team members' names, contact information, and a short intent to participate by March 7, 2008 at 5pm EST with the subject heading: ARTSI Minute Montage Contest Entry. Post your film to Youtube and send the link to Dr. Williams by the March 20, 2008 deadline.  The films will be judged by a panel of experts  based on views/comments/ratings from YouTube as well as aesthetics/editing/content.

There will be a top prize of Apple iPod Touch for each student team member (only the first place team will win a prize).  The videos will be shown and the prizes awarded at the ARTSI/CARE Olympiad on March 29 in Atlanta, GA.  At least one registered representative team member must be present at the ARTSI/CARE Olympiad to win the prizes.  There can be up to four entries per team.

 Faculty Video Editing Workshop: Cut and Paste

Faculty are invited to participate in an editing workshop facilitated by Dr. Tarshia Stanley on March 29, 2008 at the ARTSI/CARE Olympiad in Atlanta, GA. Faculty will be introduced to iMovie 08 or Final Cut Pro Express and have the opportunity to talk with student filmmakers of the new Spelman College: SpelBots Documentary.
