FAMU Students Fly With NASA |
|
In the summer of 2011, ARTSI students at Florida A&M Unviersity, advised by Professor Clement Allen, flew with their robot on a NASA plane used to simulate zero-gravity environments. Known as the "Vomit Comet", the airplane performs repeated climbs and dives, and during the dives, the occupants are weightless. The FAMU students were studying the use of a fan to keep a robot stably in contact with a surface so it could navigate under zero gravity conditions.
