2010 ARTSI Film Festival PDF Print E-mail
Theme:  Robot Drama

 

Explanation:  Robot Drama involves incorporating a working robot in either an entertaining drama or an explanatory  “docu-drama”.  A “docu-drama” would show a student’s robotics research in an interesting way.

 

Overall Goal: To promote students' interest in robotics and computing and use internet media and social networking to promote computer science and robotics.

1st Place: iPod Touch

Judges: Independent panel of judges

 

Rules:

1. Each film-making team can have up to four students but more than four people can be in the film.

 

2. The films must be 1-3 minutes long.

 

3. The target audience can be K-12, college students, or parents and teachers.

 

4.  Must register team by sending team name, contact address, film category (entertainment or documentary) and team members name and email to This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it by Tuesday, March 2, 2010

 

5.  Each film must include at least one working robot and the film must include the ARTSI name and the ARTSI website printed, www.artsialliance.org, in the subtitle or end credits.

 

6. Each school can have as many teams as it likes.  Each team may submit multiple films if it wishes.

 

7.  Teams must post their video on YouTube and send the link to the judges at This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it by Thursday, March 18, to insure that their video's will be judged.  Judges will note how many views and the types of comments posted for each video but will primarily base judgement on incorporation of the robot, creativity, editing, incorporation of theme, and meeting the ARTSI film festival requirements and rules.

 

8. Winners will be announced and the winning videos viewed at the ARTSI conference.  At least one team member must be present and only teams registered for the ARTSI conference will be allowed to participate. All entries will be posted on the ARTSI website.
